European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases

Opinions about supplements!

Dear Colleague:

The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) has recently created the European Study Group on Nosocomial Infections (ESGNI). At present, ESGNI has more than 600 members from European and non European countries and includes non ESCMID members. One of our objectives is to carry out cooperative studies on different aspects of nosocomial infections. These studies will require a minimal effort and we hope that participation will be high.

ESGNI tries to fill and complement gaps in the information presently available, mainly concerning Microbiology laboratories and Infectious Diseases areas. Our aim is not to compete but to collaborate with other Groups and people already working in the field of nosocomial infections in Europe.

We also invite you to join the Group (no additional cost at present time) if you are not already a member. If you are interested in becoming a member, please complete the enclosed Registration Form and send it to us.

As President of the ESGNI Steering Committee, and on behalf of the Group, I thank you for your cooperation and look forward to hearing from you soon.
ESGNI Executive Committee.
